The Wrap-and-Go Skirt!

I have bought so much fabric lately... so I really need to get sewing. I have fabric coming out my ears and I really can't justify spending any more money on fabric if I'm not finding time to sew.... the problem is it's an addiction! Anyway so this week I have made something for myself - Again! I found the pattern at the Sally's for about $1... I'm not one for following patterns... so I changed it up and did it my way :) Turned out ok, although its see-through and needs a petty coat under it.

Hope your enjoying your day :)

Latest second-hand treasures

I must be at the Salvation Army Shop almost every second day! I don't "need" half the goodies I find.... but I just love the thrill of finding something for next to nothing :) Here are a few of my finds as of lately.

I found the little one at good ol' Sally's, its' Japanese. And the other at a garage sale for $4 - its a Crown Lyn - I love it!

I have no idea what I planned to do with these but I had to have some - at the Sally's recently they have had a huge assortment of colours. I kind of just like them as decoration in my sewing room too.

a random assortment of fabrics. I have been on the look out for pants and short fabric for the boys - most of these fit the bill... now to find some time to sew them! The story of my life!

Vintage fabric Skirt

So I found a lovely vintage curtain on trademe a month or so ago... and have made a skirt from it. Here are the pics...

I have a a bit left and I'm contemplating making a top so you could wear them together like a full dress. May be a tad OTT though?

Little Owl

We are having a Baby Shower for a friend tomorrow and I decided I would make something. Here is what I have whipped up this arvo. I really like the colours together. I might make a few more as I have so much of this blue/green fabric....

Made with 100% natural fabrics. Cotton, silk and wool, recycled buttons and stuffed with the fabric offcuts :)

Ollie's Masterpiece

Last weekend while doing our usually Saturday morning coffee and cake then a look at the local Salvation army shop, I spotted this HUGE but rather ugly framed picture. I thought to myself surely this could be rescued and turned into something cool!

Have a look and see what we did with it.....

We all just love how it turned out and it works perfectly in our kitchen :)

Birthday Trousers :)

I made these about a week ago for Ollies 2nd Birthday. They are made from thick green cord, with a sweet wee green floral fabric pocket and lining. I made them long so they will do another season with some luck.

and... on :)

It's been a while.... I'm back, I think...

It's been some time since I last blogged - actually you could hardly say I started with all of 3 posts! Anyway I'm motivating myself to get back to it, creating I mean. Two boys, not much time, but I'm going to give it a go.
I've made a few things lately (posts to come), but today I made (of all things) a peg bag. Why? because I need one ;-)

The fabric was from a little shop in Bali. Handmade.

and..

it does the job!
